KFM's Continued Humanitarian Support: Collaborating with White Eagle Appeal to Aid Ukraine

In our continued efforts to support Ukraine with humanitarian aid, KFM has once again partnered with White Eagle Appeal, to provide a number of crucial medical supplies, including walking aids and cardiac equipment.

In November, KFM's Logistics team orchestrated the donation of second-hand walking aids from St Thomas's Hospital. Part of a sustainability initiative, these aids were transported to hospitals in Ukraine, directly contributing to the rehabilitation of both acute and long-term patients and making a significant impact on the lives of wounded soldiers and people of Ukraine.

In addition, the team at our warehouse, identified and organised goods ranging from crucial cardiac equipment such as pacemakers and cardiac stents to expired dialysis kits from King's, in preparation for a secondary distribution to Kyiv, Ukraine. These vital supplies were successfully delivered to four hospitals: the National Institute of Surgery and Transplantology, Heart Institute, National Institute of Amosova, and the Main Military Clinical Hospital.

Proving to be a lifeline for these hospitals, doctors expressed their gratitude for the donations, emphasising how these medical supplies transformed the lives of patients. Notably, KFM's support enabled the fitting of pacemakers for 13 different patients, including a case where a compatible pacemaker was found for an MRI procedure – highlighting the invaluable benefits these supplies bring in the healthcare efforts of Ukrainian doctors and surgeons.

Simonas Petrasiunas, Inventory & Logistics Manager, said: “Collaborating with White Eagle Appeal not only allows us to provide essential aid but also enables us to make a significant difference in the lives of many people who are currently suffering in Ukraine. Myself and the team are happy to be contributing to such impactful initiatives, and extending our support wherever it is needed the most."

As we continue our dedication to humanitarian aid, we are actively engaging in ongoing discussions with White Eagle Appeal, exploring additional ways we can support them.
