Armed Forces Support

KFM pledged its support to the Armed Forces Covenant in October 2021, demonstrating its support and commitment to the local communities across Greater London.

As part of our commitment to supporting the Armed Forces, we have been named as Bronze, Silver and Gold Award holders on the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS), for our ongoing support to armed services veterans and the wider Armed Forces community.

Our aim is to give equal career and employment opportunities to service leavers, veterans, service personnel and their families.

Armed Forces Covenant

KFM pledged its support to the Armed Forces Covenant in October 2021, demonstrating its support to the local communities across Greater London.

The Armed Forces Covenant is the nation’s commitment to service personnel and veterans, and acknowledges that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society.

As part of our pledge, we are actively engaging with local Reserve units to raise awareness of KFM and our career opportunities.

Step into Health: The dedicated pathway for the Armed Forces community to access career opportunities in the NHS.

KFM recognises the value of attracting talent from all walks of life and how this can positively impact our service delivery and customer care.

In line with our commitment to build a diverse workforce, expand our recruitment pools and provide innovative career pathways, we have pledged our support for Step into Health and to working with the armed forces community to offer career and development opportunities for service leavers, veterans and their families within KFM.

As part of our commitment, we have pledged to:

Review our recruitment practices to ensure we remove any recruitment barriers for members of the Armed Forces community

Offer bespoke work placements and advertise relevant permanent vacancies with Step into Health and encourage service leavers, veterans and their families to apply

Provide support for service leavers and veterans who have additional needs

Partner with NHS organisations in London to share best practice and make efficient use of resource.

The Step into Health initiative allows us to work with our local communities and supports sustainability.

Our work with Job Centre Plus Career Day Events

KFM’s Gav Jones, Head of Logistics and Armed Forces Champion, attends careers fairs (Euston Job Centre Plus etc) organised by the London & Essex Armed Forces Champions, part of the Department for Work and Pensions.

Gavin and KFM’s Recruitment Team, talk to candidates from the Armed Forces veterans’ community about the multiple career opportunities available at KFM.

Although small in size, the fair gave us a good opportunity to network with other organisations that were in attendance. I hope to see a blossoming relationship between KFM and 151 Regiment - our local logistics unit, based across Greater London. I feel that hooking-in to Reservist talent can only be of great benefit to our company, as we go from strength to strength.
— Gav Jones, KFM’s Head of Logistics and Armed Forces Champion

A Day in the Life
